The gLOWCOST STEM Outreach marched to a northern state in US. Dr. Megan Connors drove one detector from Georgia to Massachusetts during her annual trip to the state after the fall semester at GSU. The detector was successfully installed on December 26, 2024 at Sky View Middle School, where Dr. Connors’ sister (Brittany Juszkiewicz) is teaching. The photo below was taken after the detector was up and running.

The plot below (generated Enosh Herath Mudiyanselage, a graduate student at Georgia State University) by shows the time series of the percentage change of the hourly muon counts (i.e. the number of coincidence counts that muons passed the top two layers). The blue dashed-line is the change in atmospheric pressure at ground level from a nearby weather station, light gray line is the change in temperature. As it is expected, which is known for over 100 years, there is a strong anti-correlation between the muon counts and the atmospheric pressure. This plot will be updated automatically.
